Cass County Warrant RecordsCass County Warrant Records

Start with the court named on your citation or case paper, because that office answers warrant questions in Cass County. The Cass County Sheriff's Office handles custody and routing, while the District Clerk and local courts keep separate case files. There is no countywide public warrant database. The sheriff's linked search covers confinement and booking, so a blank result settles nothing about a court's process. Keep your cause or citation number handy. Then call the issuing court to confirm the warrant, its current status, and what action is required for your own case or a family member's.

Searching for a Warrant in Cass County

No single county form covers a Cass County warrant search, so begin with the court that owns the record. District criminal matters run through the District Clerk and the Fifth Judicial District Court or County Court at Law. Fine-only and traffic cases belong to the JP precinct or municipal court printed on the citation. For custody, the sheriff links a tool called Citizen Connect. It shows whether someone is confined now or was admitted during a date window you pick. It does not search arrest warrants, bench warrants, capiases, bond orders, or every local case.

  1. Read the notice for the court name and citation or cause number.
  2. Use Citizen Connect only for current confinement or admit-date information.
  3. Call the sheriff at 903-756-7511 if the question concerns custody or service routing.
  4. Call the District Clerk at 903-756-7514 for district and County Court at Law criminal records.
  5. Contact the named JP or municipal court for a traffic, FTA, fine, or city case; ask for counsel if the charge or next step is unclear.

Use Citizen Connect for Confinement

The sheriff's page links to Southern Software's Citizen Connect, which opens to Inmate Confinements. Its controls cover Current Confinements, Admits by Date Range, Charges, and Arresting Agency, and a custom range cannot span more than 31 days. A CAPTCHA may appear. The interface offers no field for warrant number, case number, court, bond, process type, or active status, so it cannot answer whether a person not in custody still has a pending matter. The Cass County Citizen Connect landing page names the sheriff's agency and routes you to the confinement search. That public screen is what the county publishes.

Warrant Search Fields Explained

Cass County publishes no warrant search form. The fields listed below come from the sheriff's custody interface, and they identify custody records only. The static page does not mark any field required.

A missing field tells you something. Entering a name in Cass County does not mean the result covers every court.

Cass County Search Results Do Not Clear a Warrant

A Citizen Connect result describes custody or a booking-date search, not the status the issuing court maintains. An empty screen can mean the person is not confined, the dates fall outside the range, or the case sits in a JP, district, or city court. Call the clerk with the citation or cause number. Ask whether an FTA, capias, arrest warrant, balance, or next hearing appears in that court's file, and confirm any recall after payment or a reset.

What a Warrant Search Shows

Cass County posts no public warrant results, so the table lists fields to ask the issuing court about. The county does not publish the format of local warrant numbers. Nor does it explain what any status code means.

Warrant numberFormat not published; request the court’s identifier.
Cause or citationConnects a warrant or capias to its underlying case.
Issuing courtNames the District Court, County Court at Law, JP, or municipal court.
Process labelMay be warrant, bench warrant, capias, capias pro fine, or another court term.
Bond or balanceAsk what amount applies and whether it is current.
Status and dateAsk whether served, active, recalled, or still requires a hearing or setting.

Ask for the exact court label and the date of the last status entry. Payment, recall, and posting are separate questions.

Confirm a Cass County Warrant Status

Citizen Connect shows current confinement, not whether unserved process stays active. For a felony, call the District Clerk and ask which criminal court owns the cause. For a fine-only matter, the JP or city court on the citation controls the record and any recall. If a license-renewal notice is the worry, contact the court that reported the failure to appear or pay. DPS's Failure to Appear/Failure to Pay Program explains that layer and lists 1-800-686-0570. DPS license specialists cannot confirm warrants, so the court remains the answer.

Where to Check Warrants in Cass County

Several offices sit near one another in Linden, yet each answers a different question. The Law Enforcement & Justice Center is the county's main public spot for sheriff and court routing. A city citation may still belong to a separate municipal court or JP in Cass County.

Calling About a Cass County Warrant

A short, specific question helps a Cass County clerk find the right file fast. Use your own information, or help a family member with permission. Keep the call on the court record and the next step.

Call notes: “I have citation or cause number ___ from court ___. Can you tell me the process label, current status, next setting, and the action needed for the court to recall or update it?”

Write down the office, date, clerk role, amount or bond instruction, next setting, posting interval, and any receipt or order number. If arrest is a worry, ask the Cass County court and sheriff where to report before appearing.

Restricted Warrants and Access Rules

Some files never surface in a public search. Texas Rule 12 excludes arrest and search warrant materials when another law, rule, court order, or common-law rule controls access. Juvenile arrest warrant records carry extra confidentiality protection.

Access limits:

Texas Rule 12.3(c) does not make every warrant packet public.

Family Code Section 58.010 restricts juvenile arrest warrant materials, subject to statutory exceptions.

Government Code Chapter 552 includes law-enforcement exceptions for some records.

A blank screen does not prove no warrant exists. Ask the issuing court which public docket or status entry it can provide in Cass County.

Request Cass County Warrant Records Correctly

A written request is the right tool here. Cass County does offer an online request form, but read the label first. It is built for financial records, not warrants. The form still wants a department, your contact details, the items you need, a copy count, the cost, a signature, and the date. Filling it out creates no special right to warrant records. So be exact about what you ask for: a status or recall entry, a service return, a capias order, or proof of a payment update. Where the paper lives depends on the office. The Cass County sheriff may hold service information. A JP or municipal court may hold the underlying process, while a District Clerk may hold the criminal docket record. For the line between custody records and an outstanding-process list, see Cass County outstanding warrants.
